The Fitzpatrick DNA Project
The Fitzpatrick DNA project is hosted by Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), and there are three main elements to the research.
1. A Y-DNA project for Fitzpatrick and related surnames, such as Patrick and Kirkpatrick, which aims to connect Fitzpatricks with their close relatives and determine the location of the major Fitzpatrick homelands in Ireland.
2. A Y-DNA deeper origins project, which aims to discover the pre-surname roots of our major Fitzpatrick genetic groups and their ancient clan connections.
3. An autosomal DNA project for discovering maternal and paternal Fitzpatrick connections.
