A clan in the surname-specific Y-DNA haplogroup R-FGC11134 … BY12234, who were numerous in the Barony of Tullyhaw, County Cavan, where many descendants still live today. The clan also reached, and still maintains, a strong presence further west in County Cavan, in Dowra, in east County Leitrim, in the Parish of Oughteragh, as well as south County Fermanagh.
Yet, the earlier roots of this O’Mulpatrick clan are more in east Connacht, and it is likely that Rathmulpatrick, County Sligo, is one of their ancient seats.
